Today, Penfield stands with the LGBTQIA+ community in observance of Transgender Day of Visibility. The Penfield DEI Committee strongly supports the diverse expressions of gender and the full diversity of gender identities within our Penfield staff, families and the greater community. This day is critically important for the LGBTQIA+ community, most specifically transgender people, to bring awareness of the adversity and discrimination this group continues to endure, and to celebrate the successes and joy of the LGBTQIA+ people.

By monitoring a child's development, parents, caretakers, physicians and early education teachers can identify children with suspected disabilities. Early identification allows for a child to get access to and benefit from services.
